How Do I See a Mountain View Heights Apartment?

How Much is Due at Signing?

The down-payment for MV, $530/bedroom, and the entire amount is due at lease signing.  Here’s the breakdown:

$30 – Key Fee                     $250 – Routine Systems Maintenance Fee             $250 – Security Deposit (Refundable)

The $530 down-payment must be paid via check/money order ONLY. We cannot accept cash payments. Please make payments payable to Matchbox Realty.

Joint Account vs Individual Accounts

As long as we receive a Guaranty of Lease from each tenant (essentially a co-signer), you will be liable for your 25% of the monthly rent instead of jointly/severally responsible for the full amount of rent each month.  The view a sample of the Guaranty of Lease, but you & your roommates will each receive a physical copy at lease signing.  Keep in mind that any damages/deductions are joint/several.

Is MVH a Pet Friendly Community?

YES! The down payment is $400 ($200 refundable; $200 nonrefundable to deodorize & deflea). The monthly pet rent ranges from $25-50 per month depending on the size of the pet. If you would like to get a cat/dog, we’ll need written approval from all your roommates (a simple email to the Property Manager is perfect!) before a Pet Lease can be signed.  Please keep in mind that aggressive breeds (Rottweiler’s or Pit Bulls) are not allowed. German Sheppard’s & Bulldogs are considered on a case-by-case basis.

What is the average cost of utilities?

As with any residence, utility expenses depend entirely on usage.  From our experience, we’ve found that water and electric combined range between $35-45/person.

Steps to Sign a Lease

We would be happy to have you! If you want to be ahead of the game, here’s what we need from you!

Application

If you haven’t already please fill out an application online. There will be a $40 application fee due at the end. You can pay via debit/credit card. If you do not fill out an application, you cannot sign the lease agreement because we have no way to enter you into our system. EACH future resident must complete an application.

Roommates

We need the first & last names of each tenant, (no nicknames) so we can prepare the lease beforehand.

Lease End Date

All leases are 11.5 months, and end dates are scattered throughout the summer. Let us know your preferred lease end date.

Flooring & Layouts

Let us know your preferred floor, first, second or third.

Signing Appointment

Let us know a time & date that works for EVERYONE to come into the Matchbox Office to sign, so we can set-up a lease signing appointment. The Matchbox office address is 202 N Liberty St. Suite 101, Harrisonburg, Va 22802.

What to Bring at Signing
